The PDF™ maps PGC provides are layered, geo-referenced map data that have geospatial information embedded in the features. All PDF™ maps delivered by PGC have commenting functions enabled so customers may edit the maps in the FREE Adobe Acrobat® Reader.

Using the free Adobe Acrobat® reader, and free MAP2PDF plug-in, users can:

• Turn On/Off Geospatial layers of interest
• Draw Lines and Shapes, add Symbols, Insert Text Boxes
• Add Comments, attached Related Documents
• Search Text, Zoom to XY Coordinates
• Measure Distances and import GPS Tracking Data

To utilize all features in the sample data set, it is best to view the data in the FREE Adobe Acrobat Reader version 7.0 and the MAP2PDF plugin.

Ordering:

1. Describe to us the area(s) of interest by Lat/Long, USGS quad name/number, Township/Range, or XY coordinates, Texas Abstract number, counties, or state.
2. Define the base reference map layers you want to start with:

• 24K PLSS or 24K TX Land Survey
• Culture Data Layers
• Pipelines and Facilities
• Oil and Gas Well Data
• Surface Contours
• Satellite or Aerial photos

3.  Provide us with any custom requests/additional datasets you want to see on the map.
4.  PGC will deliver the PDF™ file via e-mail, FTP, or CD-ROM/DVD.

Utilizing Adobe® Reader and the FREE MAP2PDF plug-in, complex GIS mapping information can be turned into easy-to-use geo-registered maps that users can view, manipulate and update with tools already installed on just about every computer in the world, thus eliminating the need for expensive and complex GIS applications on every computer.
