CASE 1:
PGC fulfills the request from a Seismic Company to assign Z-Value Elevations
to thousands of shot points, and then merge this data with their locations, with
the end result being delivered in an ASCII file format.
CASE 2:
A Petroleum Landman was able to download Lot and Tract Boundaries for several
USGS Quads in an AutoCAD format from a State Department of Natural Resources.
After numerous attempts to load this information into the company’s Land
Management Program, the Landman is dissatisfied with the results. It seems as
though several map layers need to be combined and that the text is not posting
correctly. It also appears that the maps are not showing up geographically where
they should. The Landman sends PGC the Lot and Tract data and PGC processes the
data and provides the Landman with an enhanced, easier-to-use file that loads
directly into the Land Management Program.
CASE 3:
A Production Engineer who spends most his time in the field needs to make
maps in several different areas of a particular County. On his maps he needs to
show Surveys, Pipelines, Oil and Gas Well Locations, and general Land Features
such as Rivers, Roads, and Towns. PGC provides him with Mapping Software,
Digital Mapping Data, and Personalized Instructions on how to accomplish his
mapping task.
CASE 4:
A Petroleum Landman has 30,000 Leases in Wyoming and they are recorded in an
Excel Spreadsheet. The Excel Spreadsheet has columns for a legal
description, net acreage, gross acreage, expiration date, and financial
information. The Landman would like to see these 30,000 leases
geographically expressed on a map on his computer. PGC massages the data
from the Excel Spreadsheet to produce a "map compliant" format, and uses
proprietary software to create mapped polygons representing the leases.
The Landman can now view these leases on his computer, and click on the leases
with his mouse, allowing him to see all of the information (from the Excel
Spreadsheet) that corresponds to the lease.
CASE 5:
PGC develops GIS Mapping Data Polygons for active Tax Districts/Units in the
Counties affected by a particular Utility Company’s Pipeline. Under the
direction of the Utility Company’s Property Tax Analyst, PGC creates Tax
District Polygons and attributes them with Tax District Name and Code, Ad
Valorem Number, and additional Proprietary Financial Information.
